Trust in God. Change the world.

Wise Quotes To Strengthen Your Trust In God (2024)

There is not one person that has a desire to fail. We all want to lead well. Leading our own life, the life of our family, or a more broad type of leadership in business or ministry–we all have dreams of making a profound impact. To do this we must trust in God.

Most recently, Gallup found 81% of Americans expressing belief when asked the simple question, “Do you believe in God?” This was down from 87% in 2017 and a record low for this question first asked in 1944, when 96% believed. It reached a high of 98% in the 1950s and 1960s.

This is undoubtedly a concerning downward trend and it is important to note that belief in God does not necessarily equate to trust in God. With all the hurts in life people are turning to one thing after another outside of God. We have become increasingly self-reliant and independent and need to get back to a trust in God.

Here Are Some Powerful Quotes To Strengthen Your Trust In God–So You Can Lead Well

I’d like to write. And as I further my education, at first, I thought I shouldn’t start now… I’m not wise enough or ready enough. Then it dawned on me–there are great men and women of the faith that have written and exemplified amazing life principles. Principles that presently seem to be ignored, but if studied and applied, they could help to strengthen our trust in God.

So here are some of those quotes. Take the time to meditate on them and let them sink deeply into your heart. Doing so will act as a vehicle for you to lead well, courageously, and faithfully. I figure, while I’m learning from these amazing people, why not at the same time, share them with you.

How to apply this post to your life: Read the quote / look up the passage of Scripture / seek God’s heart through prayer // and then – let’s grow together.

John 13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Oswald Chambers // sanctification

This is a great perspective to have. And it’s very relatable to the work of God in our life after salvation. There is a point in time when you get saved. Similarly to the day you where born or the day you got married. What then comes next? The bible teaches: Sanctification. The process of being made holy.

Focused Prayer

Take some time today to thank God for the circumstances in your life. Try talking to Him from a different perspective. Don’t just come to Him with a need, seek Him for wisdom. Recognize you have all of God that you’re going to get. Pray about how you can grow in Him.

Focused Scripture

Sure, follow the links to save time. But I challenge you to open your physical bible at times too.

James 1:2 / Isaiah 41:10 / Psalm 46:1-3

Charles Spurgeon // Reflect God’s Word

He goes on to say: “If your creed and Scripture do not agree, cut your creed to pieces, but make it agree with this book.” That’s How important the Word of God is in our lives. Let go your feelings, they are falsehoods. Trust in the truth of God’s Word, especially when it cuts.

Focused Prayer

Thank God for His Word. Ask Him to give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18) Pray that He would open your eyes to His ways.

Focused Scripture

Sure, follow the link to save time. But I challenge you to open your physical bible at times too.

2 Timothy 3:16 / Isaiah 55:11 / Psalm 119

A.W. Tozer // Blessing in the pain

So much of our lives (especially in America) is made up of comfort. Or at least the illusion of it. We will do anything to make life better, easier, and feel good. This isn’t a good thing. While we are doing everything to shape our lives into feel-good comfort, God is trying to get our attention through the trials. Don’t miss out, trust in God.

Focused Prayer

Open up to God. Tell Him how you think, for sure. But also, ask Him what He wants through this difficult time you’re facing.

Focused Scripture

Sure, follow the link to save time. But I challenge you to open your physical bible at times too.

Psalm 71:20 / Hebrews 12:11 / Proverbs 12:1

What does it mean to trust in God?

Letting go. That’s the shortest way to describe it. It’s human nature to want and try to control everything around us. The reality is that when we let go, putting it in God’s hands, life is actually a lot more easy.

How does it benefit me when I trust in God?

The goal isn’t an easy life. However, if I want my blender to do it’s job I must connect it first to a power source and then put it together properly. I can attempt to mash and mix my fruit smoothie with utensils, but why? God is has the power we need in life, let’s plug in to Him! If you want the peace of God tap in to the power of God. He makes life so much easier.

Peace, purpose, and joy will follow. Those are pretty great benefits.

Wrapping things up

I have been working with people in church work for 20 years. Trusting God has always been difficult, but also rewarding.

I hope these quotes can help get you refocused and ultimately put all your hope in God through His Son, Jesus Christ. And if you lack anything, trust God, keep seeking His Word, He will pour His answer and blessing out. Matthew 6:33
