In Sparkling Gems From the Greek, Rick Renner opens a gateway to an incredible world of discovery. Through his in-depth study of the original Greek language, he reveals precious nuggets of wisdom that have been long forgotten by many. With each daily devotion you will be encouraged and motivated to find more knowledge through your own exploration of God’s Word.

Often times, life can be difficult and it’s easy to search for quick fixes that may not always work in the long term. Eugene Peterson wrote this spiritual formation classic more than forty years ago, yet the call for deeper discipleship still remains as relevant now as ever. My Personal Opinion

Experiencing God is an incredible book that can help us to get closer to our Creator. It encourages us to walk in faith and live out a Christian lifestyle, and helps us to better understand His will for our lives. The principles taught can help us to find peace and clarity as we journey through life.

I’ve personally led this bible study a half a dozen times with our youth ministry and it’s impressively powerful each time! They are timeless truths that you will carry throughout your life. Engage with them, teach them to your family, memorize them and watch how they transform your spiritual journey. 

4. Mark Batterson – 24 books

One of the best things about Batterson’s work is that his writing style is engaging and lush with historical and scientific facts. From the earliest pages of this book, readers can see that he has done an admirable amount of research to provide a compelling narrative. On top of that, he has crafted vivid imagery and brings relevance to each page.

In addition to providing a fascinating and captivating story, Batterson also offers readers pieces of advice that can be taken away from the book. He encourages readers to pay attention to the small moments in life and not allow those opportunities pass by unnoticed. Through this idea he promotes mindfulness to God’s Word and each book he writes comes from a biblical account that we can all relate to personally.

Mark’s mission is to help people understand and apply the timeless truths of God’s Word. His books are filled with Godly wisdom that draw on his vast knowledge of Scripture and personal experience.

My Personal Opinion

This book is last on my list, I believe it will be first. The only reason it’s last is simply because I’ve only had the chance to read it and affect my personal life. I’ve not yet implemented it in my discipleship of others. I do, however, believe it will be another timeless book that I’ll always use as a reference.

The Cure has an extremely impactful message that will bring about much-needed change. It will help you to recognize the power of God’s grace in all its fullness and how it can help you live life with less fear, shame, and guilt. The book is a journey into redefining what happily ever after looks like, and I believe it.

What Is The Christian Lifestyle? 

We are all in the fight. It’s not a fight person-to-person. Our enemy is the devil himself. He’s done a masterful job of bringing hopelessness through deceit. We’ve all bought into his lies. It’s only when we recognize that being a follower of Jesus Christ isn’t just a title: Christian. It’s a lifestyle that we remain attentive to for the rest of our lives. We train our kids in it and remain steadfast as an army. 

How Can Living The Christian Lifestyle Benefit You?

This goes back to point number two above. You benefit when you stay. The “long obedience” means simply–you’ve stayed long enough to know the voice of God and have mastered saying no to the enemy and yes to God. It’s getting beyond what’s natural and into the supernatural. Just like building a house or working out physically, it takes time. Stay!  

Buyers Guide: How We Conducted Our Research 

My research comes from living life. Both within my own family, but also in Church work. As a Youth and Assistant Pastor for 20 years these resources have benefited people the most. They are my go-to resources for people looking for spiritual growth. 

This is how I determine a quality product:

• Are they biblically based? They must be. God and His Word are our hope. 
• Are they saturated with scripture? It’s not enough to have one good verse and write 12 chapters on that. Our lives need this saturation, these resources are full of God’s Word. 
• Personal examples. These make the list because they have changed me. But more than that, I’ve also seen other people’s lives change as I’ve given these resources as a reference.
