How Do We Stand in the Promise? Know. How Do We Know? Ask God. He delights in opening our eyes to His truths.

This is our reality: the promise stands, we can stand in it.

What does it look like to stand in God’s love?

Galatians 3:15-18 is one of Paul’s clearest arguments that our standing with God rests on what God has already sworn, not on what we manage to keep. A ratified covenant is not renegotiated. Timing matters—promise first, law later. Inheritance is received, not earned. The law cannot do the job of the promise. And the promise finds its fulfillment in Christ, the singular Seed.

So how do we actually stand in that promise day after day—on the good days, the bad days, and the ugly ones?

Do you realize you are already victorious? Already healed? Already free? If you don’t see it yet, ask God to reveal it. He will.

This changes everything about ordinary life. Even on your worst day, the ShameSong does not have to get stuck in your head. You renew your mind on the healing, freedom, and victory you already have in Christ. The ShameSong may start playing, but the SpiritSong is the one that stuck in your head. And what does the Spirit do? He teaches. He reminds. He comforts. That’s God’s love!

Look at Abraham. Romans 4:20 says he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God. Yet the story shows him taking Hagar, lying about Sarah—twice. Outwardly it looks like failure and doubt. Man looks at the outward appearance and says, “He wavered.”

But God, He looks at the heart. He says, in effect, “All I see is what you did in faith.”

He knew you before you were formed in the womb. He has given you a new heart, a new spirit, you are a new creation (Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Outwardly we still see the mess on hard days. Inwardly, who are you?

That’s a question worth asking even on your worst day:

Father, how do You see me? Father, who do You say that I am?

Psalm 103:12 tells us our sins are removed—as far as the east is from the west. Not covered. Removed. You are healed. You are free. You are victorious. Why? Because the Promise is not void. The God who made the promise is faithful to the promise.

The Promise stands. Stand in the Promise. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Know. Trust. God’s Love is real, it’s mighty, and it is life giving.

• What has God promised to His children?
• What does it look like, in practical terms, to stand in God’s promise?
• Do you realize you are already healed, free, and victorious? What difference does knowing this make?
• What do you think God says of you? How does it feel to ask Him how He sees you?

The Promise stands so that we can stand in it—today, tomorrow, and every day after that.
